Our class teacher is Miss Griffiths and Miss Hall is our new teaching assistant.
Our second spring term topic is titled ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ and will allow the children to explore the Shakespearean text and history of Shakespearean theatre. This term, the children of year 5/6 will be lucky enough to be work with a range of theatre companies to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the text. Year 5s will be working with John Brolly, a member of the Minack Theatre, to create a production of the play with many other local primary schools. During Shakespeare week (12th-18th March), a West End theatre company will be travelling to St Uny to build a whole school understanding of A Midsummer Night's Dream. What an exciting term we have ahead of us!
Our PE slots have altered slightly - year 5s will have a rugby session with Mr Kay on a Monday afternoon and year 6s will have a session on a Tuesday afternoon. We ask that PE kits remain in school throughout the week.
Y5/6 homework is following the same programme as the rest of school - there will be written Maths and English homework given out on a Wednesday to be handed in on the following Monday, and a chance to have a go at some more creative tasks on alternate weeks. Year 6s now have their revision books and we ask that the pages are completed before each specified date. Spellings will be tailored to each child.
