Our class teacher is Miss Griffiths and Miss Hall is our new teaching assistant.
Our first summer term topic is titled ‘A Time to Shine’ and will allow the children to explore the varied history of British music from Beatlemania in the 1960s all the way up to the present day. We will look in detail at the impact of different musical styles throughout the recent decades and will understand how they have affected the timeline of our British history. We will look at how different generations have reacted to the musical styles of the time and will examine how relationships and history have been changed due to their varying viewpoints.
Year 6s will continue their revision in preparation for their SATs. Please continue encouraging your child to complete their revision books - this will help us to tailor our class sessions to address any areas of weakness.
Our PE slots will remain the same - year 5s will have a rounders session with Mr Kay on a Monday afternoon and year 6s will have a session on a Tuesday afternoon. We ask that PE kits remain in school throughout the week.
Y5/6 homework is following the same programme as the rest of school - there will be written Maths and English homework given out on a Wednesday to be handed in on the following Monday, and a chance to have a go at some more creative tasks on alternate weeks. Year 6s will still have their revision books and we ask that the pages are completed before each specified date. Spellings will be tailored to each child.
