This term we have two new themes. Our first is A Time to Shine. This theme focuses on becoming more self aware, with an emphasis on coping with tests and preparing ourselves for the future. We will learn to link our sensations with our emotions and look at ways of managing our lives to minimise stress. Part of this is building in creative, artistic and sporting experiences, and we will look at British music through history to explore the influence of music on different generations. Please make sure that your child has a PE kit in school at all times as we will be grabbing every opportunity to go outside and exercise.
After half term we will be following the theme Your Choice - more details to follow shortly. This unit prepares us for leaving primary school and equipping us with the confidence and information to become more independent at secondary school.
Our class is lucky to have support from Mrs Barnard, who supports the whole class, and Mrs Peck and Mrs Moore who support individual children in class. Y6 have a PE slot every week, and homework at the moment is completion of the revision books. You will find a copy of the timetable below.
Our Y6 residential is to London on May 23rd. So far we have booked tickets for Matilda, the Churchill War Rooms, the Tower of London and the London Eye. We have also secured a tour of Parliament, which we are very excited about and we are hoping to book a visit through the gates of 10 Downing Street.
