This term we have two new themes. Our first is the topical What's Happening Now, where we are learning about the Syrian Refugee Crisis. We will look at how the conflict started, the impact of the refugee crisis on the rest of the world, and what our responsibilities in Britain are. Our RE will also be linked to this theme as we learn about the main beliefs in Islam and look at similarities and differences between this religion and Christianity. We will also be looking at the media view of Islam and trying to understand how this is not always the true picture. To complement our view of what is happening in society we will look at famous graffiti artists and how they comment on current affairs and what is going on in the world. See the theme overview attached below for more information.
After half term we will be taking part in You're Hired - more details to follow shortly. In previous years classes have worked with St Uny Kitchen to create bread and pasta sauces, so it promises to be interesting!
Our class is lucky to have support from Mrs Barnard, who supports the whole class,, and Mrs Peck and Mrs Moore who support individual children in class. Y6 have a PE slot every Friday, and homework at the moment is completion of the revision books. You will find a copy of the timetable below.
Our Y6 residential is to London on May 23rd. So far we have booked tickets for Matilda, the Churchill War Rooms, the Tower of London and the London Eye. More details to come soon!
